The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Penance, or Confession) can be received at any time by baptized Catholics. Some preparation and understanding of the sacrament is required before first reception. Catholic children usually receive First Reconciliation in the course of preparation for First Eucharist. However, reconciliation is not a requirement for children to receive First Communion, though it is desirable and appropriate.
Step 1: Contact the parish at (410) 272-4535, if not already involved in First Eucharist Prep or the RCIA process
Step 2: An initial conversation to determine the best path forward
Step 3: One group meeting (for children, including parents)
Step 4: Schedule First Reconciliation (usually 4 PM on a Saturday)
Reconciliation (confession) is an important way of being at peace with oneself and with God and community. God's mercy is vast, eternal and permanent, and available for all who seek it. Confession is also completely confidential, as "the seal of confession" is absolute.
