At St. Joan of Arc, we have an active Legion of Mary group. We meet each Tuesday night at 6pm in the Meeting House, two doors north of the church. Our meeting includes prayer, spiritual instruction and discussion, and parish work assignments. Our meetings are open to all – men and women. Deacon Ray Van Pelt serves as our spiritual director.
Since 2018, our Legion of Mary group has supported our parish with evangelization work that includes visiting new parishioners and parish families, maintaining contact with parishioners during COVID, outreach at church and public events, and in providing spiritual materials for clients at Good Samaritan and Welcome One. We also support our Homebound Ministry bringing Eucharist to those in need.
Anyone interested in learning more about the Legion is welcome to come to our Tuesday evening meetings. Discover how the Legion can help you grow in your faith as a missionary disciple to spread the joy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Founded in Ireland in 1921, the Legion of Mary is a lay apostolate association of Catholics who, with the sanction of the Church and under the guidance of the Blessed Virgin Mary, serve the Church and their neighbors on a voluntary basis in about 170 countries. For over a century, with the approval and support of the Popes, Bishops, Priests and Religious, as well as the prayers and efforts of legionaries, the Legion, by the grace of God, has grown worldwide with several million members.
