On Sunday October 23rd, an open seminar will be offered on “Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship” a teaching document from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to help offer Catholic Guidance on our rights and duties as participants in our democracy.
Our bishops ask “all people of good will to use this statement to help form their consciences; to teach those entrusted to their care; to contribute to civil and respectful public dialogue; and to shape political choices in the coming election in light of Catholic teaching. The statement lifts up our dual heritage as both faithful Catholics and American citizens with rights and duties as participants in the civil order.”
All parishioners, especially those registered to vote, are encouraged to join us in the Parish Hall after 11:15 AM Mass on October 23rd as we explore how our Catholic Faith informs our duties as American Citizens. Light refreshments provided.
