With the ‘Seek the City’ process, many city parishes in Baltimore have been closed or merged in recent months. The Archdiocese of Baltimore has requested that the parishes outside the city partner and pray with these parishes – our Pastorate will partner and pray with historic St. Bernardine Catholic Church in West Baltimore, a renowned center for African American Catholics in our region for many decades. St. Bernardine recently merged with St. Gregory the Great, St. Edward, St. Peter Claver and St. Pius V parishes, and we ask everyone to keep them and their parishioners and clergy in prayer as they continue to navigate these challenging times.
Consider participating in person or virtually in the 12th Annual Peace Walk at St. Bernardine’s on Monday January 20th, the federal holiday that honors Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. The Peace Walk is named for him, as well as the late Rev. Msgr. Edward Miller, the beloved former pastor of St. Bernardine. There will be a prayer service at the church followed by a walk through the neighborhood with Msgr. Rich Bozzelli (current pastor) and all three Baltimore bishops: Archbishop William Lori, and Bishops Parker and Lewandowski. Join us at St. Bernardine’s by 12 Noon: 3800 Edmondson Avenue, Baltimore MD 21229.
